Providing Context

I randomly picked a Tableau challenge from WorkoutWednesday.

The focus area was dashboard layout and providing context to the user.

For interactive dashboard, use this link to open it in Tableau Public.

I created two calculatIn United States, every aircraft operator is required, by the FAA, to report incidents where wildlife comes in to contact with an aircraft! I picked up this dataset from data world and it has data from 1990.

I have built an interactive dashboard that provides context to what has been clicked on.

The dashboard contains the following:
● A bar chart that shows the top 10 species types with the most wildlife strikes and aggregates all others species into one
● A map chart that shows the wildlife strikes that happened in each state
● An area chart that shows the wildlife strikes over time

Interactions available:
● Clicking any state will filter the entire dashboard for that state

● Clicking any species type will filter the entire dashboard for that species

For interactive dashboard, use this link to open it in Tableau Public.

The important thing I learnt here was how to use sets and calculated fields to show Top 10 and aggregate all others in the bar chart. Looking forward for more new learnings.
